What people are saying about the Kindle ebook reader

Reviews from people that have purchased a Kindle

1)

Absolutely love my Kindle

I debated which ebook reader to purchase for several months. I looked at many different brands in the stores, but none of them were working when I would try them. When I saw that Amazon had dropped the price of Kindle 1 and Audible was giving a $100 discount, I couldn’t resist anymore. I had already been using my laptop to read Kindle books so the transition to the Kindle was awesome. I could put it into my purse and read where ever I found myself waiting in line or for an appointment. The only complaint I have with my Kindle is that I happen to live in one of those spotty areas that only gets Whispernet occassionally. Due to this, I have to wait to download books until I go to town for something. Other than that, I do love my Kindle. I have found that book reading lights work fine with my Kindle. I do wish that it could be password protected so that not just anyone could pick up my Kindle and read – help with the theft issue.

2)

Like previous Kindle owners have posted, I find I am reading a lot more; and the simplicity of the Kindle is awesome. I have to say, I love this little thing. I thought it would have to grow on me, but I take it wherever I go now!

However, I still have printed books I have to read, but I wish there was some type of exchange program. I can’t imagine getting rid of hard print books completely. Maybe I can sell or trade some of the books I want to get rid of or have read already. I’ve read many good suggestions in the Kindle forum about this dilemma. The Kindle does help me to be more “green”,and I love that! I’m on a “simplicity” life conversion and going to the Kindle has been a great decision for me.

I am definitely a Bibliophile turned into “Kindler”. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

In a few years I’ll upgrade to the DX version for my travel sabbatical. I no longer have to worry about how I’ll indulge my favorite past time while on the road.

3)

Well, I’ve had my Kindle for a couple of months now, and I have to say that I really love it. It’s not perfect, but it’s more than I had hoped it would be.
Good Points: I enjoy having the instant dictionary. Now I look up words instead of assuming the meaning from the context. The anytime, anywhere access to the Store is great. I was in Australia recently, and found I was almost finished with the book I was reading (Hey! It’s a long, long flight!)I looked up the author in the Kindle Store and downloaded another one of his books in a minute. Books are expensive in Australia. So is internet access. I saved $15 on that transaction alone, and didn’t have to pay for internet access.
Bad Points: I feel I’m reading faster, perhaps too fast. Maybe it’s my internal gadget fiend expressing himself by clicking the button. Also, the simple internet browser doesn’t have a home page after its first use. The home page had a list of useful websites, but once you access one, you can’t return to the list. Final gripe: many of the books I love aren’t available (yet).
Overall, though, it’s great. It combines my love of reading with my love of gadgets. My wife and kids say I’m addicted. I don’t know about that, but I certainly enjoy it.

Marketing With Free Ebooks

MARKETING  WITH FREE  DOWN LOADABLE  EBOOKS

Unless you have a site that fills a unique need – which is practically impossible – your competition most likely is in  numbers of hundreds of thousand`s selling the same type of product product . In order to compete properly first you must use every marketing technique available to help promote your website to the widest possible audience. One of the best techniques to create a viral buzz is to create some kind of free downloadable ebooks.

You may be wondering  how spending  time writing an ebook that you then distribute for free is going to be worth  while. No matter what you’re selling, potential customers want to sample what you have to offer before they commit to buying. Statistics show that the average buyer visits a site six to seven times before they are convinced to buy. You believe in your product or service and know that your customers will benefit by purchasing from your site. The question is, how do you convince the visitor that what you are offering is superior to what your competitors are offering ?

One  way to persuade people to buy is to offer them free of charge,  information that provides a snapshot of the benefits they will realize upon buying. Your customer needs to know that you know what you are talking about. Let’s say you’re selling is to do with hydroponic`s. Visitors to your site may well be looking for  garden tools or hydroponic equipment. Before they’re willing to part with their hard earned cash, they need to feel that you’re a credible source.By offering a good ebook, with valid information, they will be able to read more on the subject and trust your word on the product.

You know your business better than anyone. It’s easy for you to write a short booklet on the pros and cons of hydroponic gardening, or the best tools for to use for each job. You know all about the advantages of hydroponic gardening. The time required to produce a free downloadable ebook on any of these subjects is nominal when compared with the credibility you will gain with your visitors.

You can market your book through your website, offering a branding option to other topic-related websites, where they could  freely distribute your free downloadable ebooks with an easily changed link to their site as the incentive.  The more copies you have in circulation, the more leads you gain. One reader forwards a copy to another, or steers a friend to your site. Get your link to this freebie in a gardening newsletter and you’ve gotta source of free traffic.

Well-written,  free downloadable ebooks, full of useful information on your potential customer’s  interest serves a number of  useful purposes. You will be  seen as a credible expert in that area. Your potential customer gets valuable information for free and if the ebook is only for subscribers, you gain an email address for your list and it also follows that what you’re selling is also valuable. For some other ideas on building a home based business you could try taking a look at Instant Business, who sell ready made plr websites, complete with products, sites, sales letter the whole show !

New eBook Reader Comparison Tables

It has taken a long week of experimenting with and chopping up HTML and CSS code, of researching and checking facts, of not getting anything else done, only a few scanty blog posts, but I’ve finally finished updating The eBook Reader Comparison Page.

The new comparison tables include a lot more ereaders both from the US and internationally. Since there are so many, with several more about to be released, I decided to break the comparison page into three pages so that they load faster and are easier to navigate.

The main comparison page compares most of the 6-inch ebook readers on the market—the most popular size.

The second page compares 5-inch ebook readers and the last page lists large ebook readers and multimedia devices that have a 7-inch screen or bigger. In truth, though, a 7-inch screen really isn’t that large at all, but I had to draw the line somewhere.

Please let me know if you notice any links not working on the new pages or if some info is incorrect. Dealing with such large pages that are loaded with so much HTML code that won’t display properly in any HTML editors, it’s very difficult to keep everything in order when working on it.

This book is an attempt to present a fairly comprehensive account of the structure and usage of Standard Modern Greek (SMG), which is defined as the language ordinarily spoken and written at the present day by moderately educated people in the large urban centres of Greece. Today, despite the view frequently expressed by Greeks that the Modern Greek language is in a state of chaos, there is nevertheless a broad consensus about the general principles (and about most of the details) of the language.
